Im in Cork, but i can drive to dublin in 2.5 hours if thats where you are. This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. MSRP is US68.33, but my parts source sold it - Audi labeled, not aftermarket - to me for US49.20. Unfortunately, i cant bring the car to you, but i can drive to you and borrow it (your welcome to come with me, all Tea/Coffee/Alcohol would be provided for free during your stay ) The filter element and gasket kit P/N for the large multi-tube fuel filter is: 7L6-127-434-C. So if anyone out there would allow me to come and borrow or Rent ( deposit can be left also) their VCDS cable and software, i would be their friend for life! So my third option is to try to get VCDS cable and software ( i have laptop if this helps) i have no idea were the aux fuel pump is under the engine, So three options, take it to a garage, get to the pump terminals and jump them (no idea were to start) and as my car is a Van with metal plate down where the back seat was, its not easy to get to.
I DIY serviced my Mark6 1.6 TDI golf today, all going ok, until it came to start engine after fuel filter installation, no luck, looked online, most people are saying i need VCDS (newer VAG-COM), this sound silly to me just for a fuel filter change? but anyway, tried all the tricks, turn on/off ignition 15 times, lock the car, open the door (which ive been told primes the pumps lol.(did a diesel rain dance) no luck.
